I’m beyond thrilled to share that AstroTours.org has landed on Colorado.com — the official site for Colorado tourism! Think of it as one more giant leap toward connecting more folks with our celestial home above Boulder and beyond.

What This Means for AstroTours.org

Being showcased on Colorado.com — alongside adventures like skiing at Granby Ranch, fishing at Spectacle Lake, or exploring the Great Sand Dunes — feels surreal. For years, we’ve watched them highlight the best that Colorado has to offer, and now we’re part of that mix! Here’s a snippet from our new listing:

AstroTours.org provides guided night tours of the sky with hands-on experience using telescopes, binoculars, and lasers. We host public tours multiple times a week, private events, and youth group activities. Join us for an unforgettable stargazing experience!”

Translation: If you’re after a cosmic escape — whether you’re brand-new to star-gazing or a seasoned observer — you’re welcome in our circle of telescopes, red flashlights, and starry-night chatter.

For travelers (or locals!) who want to plan a full-on Colorado adventure — from ziplines above the Royal Gorge to unwinding at luxe resorts in the Rockies — Colorado.com is the digital starting gate. Their site brims with tips, articles, and ways to “do Colorado right,” including:

  • Family-friendly itineraries: Perfect if you want to pair a day hike in the Flatirons with an evening under the Milky Way.

  • Nods to local culture & heritage: They celebrate everything from desert sunsets to high-alpine festivals.

  • Free visitors’ guides: Because who doesn’t love a good map and insider recs?

Your Invitation to the Night Sky

The best part is, you don’t need any astronomy background to enjoy an AstroTour. My team and I bring high-powered telescopes, lasers for constellation tours, binoculars for that “wow” factor, and (most importantly) a warm welcome. Our home base is Boulder (with an address at 3900 Longhorn Rd), but we’re always on the go hosting private events, youth group nights, or pop-up stargazing around Colorado.

Now that we’re on Colorado.com, we hope even more curious minds find their way to us. Perhaps you’ll catch a meteor streaking overhead, see Jupiter’s stripes for the first time, or simply relish the hush that falls when everyone tilts their heads up in unison.

See You Under the Stars

If you plan to explore Colorado, consider adding “Night-Sky Adventure with AstroTours.org” to your itinerary. There’s no better finale to a day of sightseeing than watching cosmic wonders unfold overhead — from Saturn’s rings to the shimmering Pleiades.

For those who’ve been part of our tours already, thank you for lighting this path. And if you’re new to the astro-adventure, come see why the Colorado night sky is as precious (and jaw-dropping) as our mountains and canyons.

Clear skies and happy stargazing!—Luke

If you told me back in 2018—when I wrote my very first entry, “Introduction to the series”—that we’d be here, at 200 blog posts, I would find it hard to believe. Yet here we are, continuing to chart new territory in astronomy, education, and cosmic storytelling!

A Quick Spin Through Our Celestial Journey

  • Early Days (2018–2019)We kicked off by covering basics like “The Moon” and “Venus”, unraveling orbits and phases. Even then, I loved blending mythological tidbits—like how Venus, the “evening star,” is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty—with practical stargazing tips.

  • Space Meets Humanity (2020–2021)We dove into deeper topics like “Black Lives Matter,” “COVID-19,” and the importance of uniting under one sky. We also tackled big-picture astrophysics in “Bang Crunch Bounce Rip” and “Heat Death”, reminding us that the fate of the universe is both awe-inspiring and humbling.

  • Expanding Our Horizons (2022–2023)A personal highlight was achieving over 1000 five-star reviews—an honor fueling more tours, blog posts, and brand-new partnerships (AstroTours.org now has over 1000 5 star reviews!”). We also gleaned new perspectives on how to protect the night sky in “Light Pollution” and “Eco-Friendly Stargazing”, renewing our commitment to Earth while marveling at the cosmos.

  • Festival Fun, Awards & Meteor Mania (2024–2025)We brought telescopes to places like Winter Park, Breckenridge, and even beyond Colorado (AstroTours.org's Stellar Expansion: Now Hosting Astronomy Tours in Arizona!”). We shared front-row seats to spectacular cosmic events, from the 2023 Perseids shower to the “Annular Solar Eclipse” of October. We also introduced new star guides—people like Aislynn, Mazzy, and Reese—whose passion makes our tours sparkle even brighter.

The Heart of It All

Behind each post—whether it’s comedic musings like “Diving Deep Inside Uranus” or sobering reflections like “Kessler Syndrome: When Space Junk Spirals out of Control”—is a commitment to share astronomy in a fun, inclusive way.

We’ve explored everything from x-mas comets to Mars landing highlights and from “No matter where you are now, where you call home is under the same set of stars” to “Our main reason for 4-star reviews and how to avoid them.” The tone jumps between serious and playful, but the goal never changes: to ignite wonder and connect us under the same cosmic canvas.

Looking Ahead

So, what’s next? If we’ve learned anything, it’s that the universe is boundless—just like our capacity for discovery. We’ll keep showing up with meteor-shower guides, planet-by-planet spotlights, deep dives into cosmic lore, plus behind-the-scenes tales from AstroTours events across the Front Range, Winter Park, and beyond. Maybe we’ll even do another countdown to an epic total solar eclipse or chase the next hidden comet named something whimsical.

Thank you—every stargazer, tourist, cosmic enthusiast, and blog reader—for supporting us through two hundred posts of cosmic curiosity. Your questions, feedback, and laughter drive us to keep exploring. Here’s to the next 200 posts—may our nights be clear, our telescopes steady, and our hearts ever filled with wonder.

Clear skies and happy stargazing!

Civic Center STARGAZE

What a season it has been! Our Civic Center STARGAZE series in the heart of Denver concluded with an unforgettable final night on April 9. We partnered with the Civic Center Conservancy to bring high-powered telescopes, expert astronomers, and a renewed sense of wonder to anyone who joined us in Civic Center Park—showing that city lights don’t have to dim your cosmic adventures.

1. A Stellar Success in Downtown Denver

From early-season evenings spent marveling at the Moon’s craters to the final session, Civic Center STARGAZE drew in families, first-time stargazers, and seasoned astronomy fans. Attendees got an up-close look at planets, nebulae, and star clusters, all while nestled among Denver’s iconic skyline.

  • Free Programs for Federal Workers: We were honored to offer complimentary sessions to laid-off federal workers, ensuring that the magic of the cosmos was accessible to everyone who needed a little extra lift this season.

  • Featured on 9NEWS: If you caught our 9NEWS coverage, you know just how exciting it was to see stargazing highlighted in Denver’s urban core. The cameras captured the awe and excitement on visitors’ faces as they peered into the night sky—right in the center of our bustling city.
