Our main focus is astronomy education, and we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn about the universe without price being a barrier. That’s why we offer a variety of discounts to help make our tours more accessible.

We offer a 5% discount to anyone looking for a deal. Simply use the code BARGAIN when booking your tour.

We also welcome trades with guests who have useful skills to offer, such as photography, art, business support, or helping with setup and breakdown in exchange for a tour. If you have something to offer, send us an email with your proposal and we’ll see if we can work something out.

We understand that some guests may have genuine financial need, and we are open to adjusting prices further in those situations. Please contact us and let us know what would make the experience accessible for you.

Children ages 2–12 receive half-price admission, and infants under age 2 are free.

Please keep in mind that this is a late-night astronomy program that requires some attention and patience. Younger children sometimes fall asleep during the tour.

Coupons, free stickers, and postcards may be available at Boulder-area visitor centers and other local locations, including Davidson Mesa, Pearl Street, Nederland, and the visitor center at Chautauqua.

All expiration dates have been waived. We continue to accept expired AstroTours coupons, so please feel free to use them rather than throwing them away.

Lower Your Light Pollution Promotion

We’re offering to split the cost of qualifying lighting upgrades that you or your neighbors make to reduce light pollution.

If you upgrade an outdoor lighting fixture, send us a photo of the new light and a copy of the receipt. Before-and-after photos that we can feature on social media are appreciated, but if you would prefer that we not share your photos, just let us know.

You’ll receive a discount equal to half the cost of the lighting upgrade, up to $40.

For example:

If you spend $40 upgrading outdoor lights with motion sensors or lower-temperature LEDs, you can receive $20 off your tour.

If your neighbor spends $80 replacing outdoor lighting with fixtures designed to reduce light pollution, they can receive $40 off.

We offer half-price public tours to guests associated with a local Girl Scout troop.

We also offer heavily discounted private programs for troops working toward astronomy- and NASA-related badges.

Work Exchange

We offer one free tour spot per program in exchange for helping with setup and breakdown.

The volunteer should arrive approximately one hour before the tour and stay for approximately one hour afterward to help with equipment.

It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about how our telescopes work.

We generally only have enough work for one volunteer per tour, but if you are part of a larger group, send us an email and we’ll see what we can arrange.

Metropolitan State University of Denver

All MSU Denver students and faculty are eligible for free public Boulder tours.
